As a youngster I used to love reading the adventure stories in the comics of the day like the Lion, Valiant and Victor. But I also wanted to write my own stories. This ambition didn't go away, which is why I ended up writing Commando graphic novels for D. C. Thomson. It was a tremendous learning process and it boosted my confidence as well. I hope to write some more for them soon.

Pete's Private War - (Commando # 3466, Sep 2001)
illustrator: Carlos Pino
Graphic Novel: It seemed that whatever task was given, Lieutenant Pete Hanford was fighting his own private war. In fact, there was even talk of posting him elsewhere unless he learned to think more before he acted.
And the time of reckoning was coming very soon in a deadly dangerous clash with ruthless mercenaries... led by a renegade Soviet special forces' officer.

Ground Attack! - (Commando 4699, Apr 2014)
Illustrator: Carlos Pino

So they sent him to a new squadron with new kites and new weapons - RP-3s, fearsome three-inch air-to-ground rockets. The only problem was that they had sent him to a squadron where an old enemy waited. One on his own side! |
